Our winter cress is now fully established, ready for harvest over the coming months
Spring is coming. Febuary every year we start to clean out lasts years crop and start to propagate our first seeds, ready for planting in the first week in March.
Starting to raise the water levels to protect the stem and leaf . Ready for our first cold night
Traditional methods still being used, the witches brush …..it enables us to protect the leaf and stem with the cold weather now here, encouraging new shoots to grow for a thicker crop in a few weeks time .
Simply the best of English Watercress you will find around at this time of year. We are unique being able to supply watercress 52 weeks of the year, despite the testing winter, we are still able to produce a large leaf, clean stems , full of flavour. #supportlocal #Romseywatercress #sunbeamwatercress
With the first spell of really cold weather forcast for tonight, its essential we protect the leaf and stem from the frost…. minus 4 is expected. The spring water at source is 11 degrees , which is going to keep the frost at bay once the watercress is rolled in .
